JR Emerson, Attorney
I grew up about one hour from Indianapolis, in Spencer, Indiana (near Bloomington), and graduated Owen Valley High School in 1986. After high school, I grew my hair long and sang in a rock band for a few years. I later attended Indiana University in Bloomington and recieved a B.S. in Business. After working in computer networking and later at Roche Diagnostics in technical support, I attended law school at the Robert H. McKinney School of Law - Indianapolis.
I have lived in Boone County since 2007. My three children attend Stonegate Elementary and Zionsville West Middle School. My children are active in the Boone County 4-H, so you can catch us there every year. My hobbies include golf, basketball, football, attending my children's sporting/school events and singing (remember I used to have long hair).
I recognize that choosing to call an attorney can be very intimidating. I'm here to help you. I'm not here to sell you something that you don't want or need. So whether you decide to call me or not, make sure you call an attorney to get the advice you need to make the best decision possible.
I am available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so if there is an emergency please don't hesitate calling. Of course, it is easier to reach me during normal business hours.
I am here to help you, so just let me know if there is anything I can do. JR Emerson

We Can Help!
For many parents, child custody and parenting time problems create a great amount of unease. Basically in Indiana courts will resolve any dispute about child custody and parenting time according to the best interests of the children involved.
Child support comes with rights and responsibilities. Normally the non-custodial parent pays the parent with primary physical custody a monthly amount which is more or less fixed by the Indiana Child Support Guidelines.
Indiana law creates a presumption that each party to a marriage is entitled to 50% of the marital property. This presumption can vary, but in most cases, each party is awarded 50% of the marital property and 50% of the marital debt.
Whether you are contemplating divorce, or been arrested or injured you are probably scared, unsure what will come next and what to do. Give me a call. We will sit down, go over your options and work to find a way to move forward. Call me or another attorney. But call someone and get the help you deserve.
